Whistle-candy and barrettes
A box of candy sent by my friend Karen came in the mail last week. She lives in Sacramento, and down the street from her is a Japanese grocer. Land of Cute requested that a cute inspection be done...these are the results. The most intriguing was a candy that allows you to whistle, packaged in a link of little plastic bunny packs. The larger bags with jungle animals held a gummi snack. One candy featured a toy in a box. After much excitement getting into the packaging to find the toy, it turned out to be a small barrette. But cuteness adorned nearly all the packaging, and lived up to all expectations.

Thanks for sharing your candy Sophia! The whistle candies indeed worked very well, although mine shot out of my mouth into the garbage can. Whoops. I love the little penguin, but am curious as to why he/she was paired with a gorilla.
I find this image - especially the gorilla - disturbing rather than cute! The eyes are demonic...The colors however are bright. I am probably just not a sucker for whistle candy.
Is that a lion and a koala? And an elephant and a kangaroo? Yes, Holly, interesting pairings. I want to eat some!
The packaging is indeed cute and probably successfully attracts little children and some adults (we won't mention any names).
The strawberry gum was yummy, but the fruity gumballs left something to be desired.
