SeaWorld - Happiest place on earth
One of our Queens of Cute went to San Antonio earlier this month. Highlights: petting a dolphin and PETTING A BABY PENGUIN! (yes, I am shouting.) Since pictures are worth 1,000 words, here are 4,000 words for you.

the more you know
Do you remember Monchichis? I had a few when I was a kid - in fact, my dad's nickname for me was Monchichi. Well, they are back in stores and as cute as ever! Here are some little-known Monchichi facts (from our very favorite source, Wikipedia).
- The Monchhichi franchise is Japanese and held by the Sekiguchi Corporation Monchhichi was created by Koichi Sekiguchi on January 25, 1974. Sekiguchi claims he has created this character in order to inspire respect and love in the young (Japanese) children and adults.

- The original name was changed to "Chicaboo" in the United Kingdom, to "Mon Cicci" in Italy and to "Kiki" in France.
- Monchhichis were monkey-like creatures who lived in the forest land of Monchia at the very top of tall trees well above the clouds. The tribe's leader, Wizzar, was a magical wizard who could make up spells and potions to defeat their enemy, the evil Grumplins of Grumplor.

Baltic's Lucky Day
Baltic, the spunky dog who floated at least 75 miles on an ice floe down Poland's Vistula River and into the Baltic Sea, has a new owner: The seaman who rescued him.
Buczynski and other crew members spotted the dog Jan. 25 floating at least 15 miles (24 kilometers) from land. The rescue was difficult because the frightened, shivering dog kept falling into the water. Fearing he could drown, the crew lowered a pontoon to the water and Buczynski, the ship mechanic, managed to grab the dog and pull him to safety.

speaking of the year of the tiger...
One of my best Holiday Finds this year was a calendar that we received from our favorite chinese restaurant - Silver Lake. I'm going to have to start locking my door extra tight... I have a feeling that a certain co-owner of this blog is going to want to rip my door down and steal it...
Happy Year of the Tiger!

oh noes, bows!
So, my mom and I are giant fans of hairbows. My adorable niece is the unfortunate recipient of many such hair adornments (unfortunate because she does not enjoy wearing them for more than an hour).
Several people we know have gotten into bow making recently which is AWESOME. One of our friends is having a giveaway here and I thought, what better way to torture niecelet than to win 6 hairbows to force her to wear? Anyway, not only are the bows cute (hello, owls!) but the name of my friend's blog is as well (bungalow bee! eeeee!). So there's your cute commercial for the day.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
